Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of year-end engagements (audit, review, notice-to-reader) in accordance with Firm quality control standards for clients in a variety of industries
- Principal focus on IFRS public company audits and secondly on ASPE review engagements; including preparation of related corporate income tax filings; within a paperless office environment
- Completing engagements independently with limited supervision; supporting junior associates; coordinating directly with clients and reporting to senior associates and managers
- Identifying and resolving engagement issues
- Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with clients, co-workers and other firm contacts
A successful candidate will have:
- Working towards their CPA designation
- One to three years’ experience working in a public accounting firm
- Experience with QuickBooks, TaxPrep, and CaseWare and technical knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, CAS and tax compliance/planning
- Strong understanding of a client-focused environment; including the ability to work to meet deadlines and manage concurrent engagements
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Internally motivated, lifelong learner and desire to progress through organization
