Intermediate Assurance Associate

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of year-end engagements (audit, review, notice-to-reader) in accordance with Firm quality control standards for clients in a variety of industries
  • Principal focus on IFRS public company audits and secondly on ASPE review engagements; including preparation of related corporate income tax filings; within a paperless office environment
  • Completing engagements independently with limited supervision; supporting junior associates; coordinating directly with clients and reporting to senior associates and managers
  • Identifying and resolving engagement issues
  • Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with clients, co-workers and other firm contacts

A successful candidate will have:

  • Working towards their CPA designation
  • One to three years’ experience working in a public accounting firm
  • Experience with QuickBooks, TaxPrep, and CaseWare and technical knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, CAS and tax compliance/planning
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment; including the ability to work to meet deadlines and manage concurrent engagements
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Internally motivated, lifelong learner and desire to progress through organization
