Pat Kenney
Pat Kenney, CPA, CA, holds a bachelor’s degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario. He joined SDVC LLP in January 2017 after an 11 year stint in public accounting at a local CPA firm. Since obtaining his CPA designation, Pat has earned a reputation amongst colleagues, clients and complimentary service providers as being highly technically proficient – Pat either has the solution to your financial problem or knows where to find it.
Pat’s local firm background has led to working on a wide spectrum of engagements in considerable depth: IFRS public company audits (mineral exploration and mining, tech, wholesale distribution and manufacturing in particular), go-public/prospectus/business acquisition report type transactions, investment industry audits (broker-dealers, exempt market dealers, portfolio managers, investment funds), audits of registered charities and not-for-profit organizations, ASPE audits and reviews of privately owned businesses and notice-to-reader compilation engagements. Not to mention all related corporate, personal and trust income tax planning and compliance work.
This breadth of experience allows Pat to engage meaningfully with most any client need. Pat’s professional mandate is in delivering broad financial planning solutions to his clients – well beyond the central tax and accounting. To that end, Pat’s most successful clients consult him on all significant financial challenges and opportunities. It’s not uncommon for a tax or accounting themed meeting to veer into matters of retirement planning, insurance needs and everything finance in between.
Outside of the office Pat is passionate in his volunteer efforts with CPA Canada’s Community Connect Financial Literacy Program. As a guest speaker in public libraries and local organizations, Pat presents on a wide array of financial literacy topics. In this capacity, Pat was nominated for the 2016 CPA Canada Financial Literacy Volunteer award.
